Austin David, President

Austin has been involved in the property business since he was born, following his parents along as they both worked in the Orlando Area. Following his graduation from Rollins College in 2015, he became more involved in the business side of Metroplex Investments.

While becoming more involved in the company, Austin pursued his passion for sports writing and broadcasting. He has been on television and radio calling Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride matches while appearing on News Channel 13 as an expert soccer analyst. Austin has also hosted a sports radio show since 2013, called the “Community Sports Report,” every Thursday from 4-5 p.m. on WPRK 91.5 FM.He has also worked with ESPN, CBS, and Yahoo! Sports calling matches for various teams and leagues. Most recently, he served as the play-by-play voice of UCF Men’s and Women’s soccer, as well as redhatting for Toronto Sports Network.

Since 2016, Austin has served as President of Metroplex Investments, overseeing all company operations and looking to build on the previous 30+ years of business.

Malcolm David, Broker

A fifth-generation native of Chicago, Illinois, Malcolm David returned to the United States after working for the International School Services, based in Princeton, New Jersey. He lived and taught in London, England, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He met and married his British wife, Yvonne, in London, England and they have one son, Austin.

Since establishing himself in the Orlando area in 1981, he worked at Global Properties, Ltd. in Winter Park, Florida, and developed a local, national and international clientel
e. In 1984, Mr. David founded Metroplex Investments, Inc., a licensed Florida real estate brokerage and licensed Florida mortgage lender. Metroplex Investments, Inc. managed a 20-million-dollar portfolio of real estate and mortgages, and it is now celebrating its thirty-sixth year in business. Since the company’s inception, Malcolm had spearheaded the organization into becoming a leader in its field.

Malcolm’s international experience, education, counseling, and business background have prepared him to address difficulties his clients face during challenging times. Always the entrepreneur, Malcolm has had the foresight and vision to expand into new ventures, even during economic crises. “You always have to look for the positive in a negative situation,” says Malcolm. “Many new opportunities present themselves during the worst of times. And with hard work, you can still achieve your goals.”

He has worked as a committee member with the “Just Desserts” foundation with WFTV-TV of Orlando, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld to raise money for severely ill children. An avid traveler, Malcolm has visited over sixty countries. As a passionate sportsman, Malcolm works out regularly and also plays golf, tennis, and basketball. The latter is a continuation from his college days. He has won several gold medals in basketball and silver medals in track and field at the Senior Olympic Games.

Malcolm holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, 1968, and a Master of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling, Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, 1968. He was in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1961-1967.

Yvonne David, Administrator

Yvonne David has been involved in the property business in the Orlando area since 1980. Her husband started Metroplex Investments, Inc. in 1984. As an Administrator and Licensed Real Estate Salesperson of Metroplex, she has handled real estate taxes, insurance, communications, correspondence, business reports, and business plans. In addition, she has liaised with both local, national, and international clientele.

Yvonne has worked as a Personal Assistant to top executives at major corporations, including three Fortune 500 corporations, AMF, UBS, and Air France, in London and Johannesburg, where her skills as an interpreter/ translator in French and English served her well. In addition, she has organized international conferences in Europe.

Language and literature have also filled her life. Her diploma qualifications from the Language Tuition Centre, London, England, included Interpreter/ Translator in French and English. After moving to Florida with her American husband, she earned a degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, in English and Organizational Communications, and graduated with High Honors. Inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society, Yvonne continues to be involved in other literary endeavors. A guest speaker for various schools, conferences, and libraries, Yvonne served as a Literary Selection Committee member and Board member of the Jack Kerouac Writers-in-Residence Project of Orlando, Inc., a literary retreat for writers worldwide, as well as a Self-Expression and Leadership Coach for Landmark Worldwide. Especially meaningful to her, Yvonne is an award-winning author, whose novel, adapted to the stage, is planned for an Off-Broadway New York Premiere in September/October 2022.
